Week 43 Diet Tip
Lose fat to reduce inflammation and pain!
Did you know that fat can cause inflammation and pain?
Fat (adipose tissue) is biologically active and secretes hormones and other chemicals that cause generalised inflammation in the body. This in turn can result in chronic pain and discomfort.
Research shows fat cell secretions play a role in the development of conditions such as osteoarthritis. Fat cells produce a hormone called leptin, which causes inflammation when it infiltrates joints. It may also influence the boney changes associated with Osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease.
The good news is, that by reducing your dog’s body fat, you reduce the level of inflammation and discomfort experienced by your dog.
So keep up your doggy diet efforts. Know you are making positive impact beyond what is visible to the naked eye.
Here’s to a reduction in body fat and a happier and more comfortable dog 🙂
